The clinical study on three patients with systemic sclerosis was made and the following results were obtained.
1. Three patients with systemic sclerosis were all females aged 38, 48, 73 years respectively.
2. As the initial manifestation, the Raynaud phenomenon was observed in two of the three patients, and polyarthralgia, general weakness and weight loss were observed in all patients.
3. The skin showed generalized sclerosis mostly on hand, arm, face and feet. The ¢¥dark brown pigmentation was found in two of the three patients. There was no telangiectasia, ulceration or calcinosis of the skin.
4. The arthritic change were present mostly on the interphalangeal and elbow joints.
5. As visceral organ involvement, pulmonary fibrosis in three patients and atonic dilatation of the esophagus in two patients were demonstrable
on X-ray studies.
